Quercetin – A Powerful Antioxidant
Quercetin is a powerful antioxidant (much more powerful than vitamin C) with high levels of anti-cancer activity including protection of proteins, DNA and genes. Quercetin is found in onions, kale, apples and broccoli. A recent study found that a high intake of quercertin (1000mg per day for 7 days) increased aerobic power (3.9%) and endurance (13.2%). This demonstrates why consuming high levels of antioxidants is important for everyone to maintain strength and energy throughout the day, especially youth athletes playing multiple games in one day.
